Karen  
My name is Karen, and this is my husband, Paul. We’ve been with Plan First Wealth since May of last year (2024). The lady that we deal with mostly is Martha, and Richard advises us as well.

Paul
I had an opportunity at work to finish earlier than I’d originally planned. One of the things I wanted to explore with Richard was the possibility of retiring early, and I needed good advice from a financial adviser because I had pensions in the UK and pensions in the US as well. So, that was the main driver.

Karen  
Martha is going to help me with anything that occurs within the US, as I’m not very clear on all the rules and regulations of pensions and social security. She’s very kind, and she’s going to help me with that process. 

Having the first few conversations with Martha and Richard, I felt that they were very trustworthy. I had confidence afterwards, because I was nervous initially, and they never pressured us into making any decisions. It was always, “This is what we have to offer. It’s entirely up to you, and there’s no pressure.” They’re just genuinely nice people.

Paul
The fact that he was from the UK made a difference to me because he would have seen it from and experienced both sides himself. A lot of the advisers in the US see things from a US perspective, and they don’t have the same understanding of the UK pension. So, having that was excellent.

Karen  
Working with Martha and the team makes me feel confident about the future. Instead of worrying about money coming in, they make me feel more confident.

Paul
The three things I would say about Martha are that she’s a real pleasure to work with, she’s very responsive in getting back to you with answers to questions, information, or anything like that, when actions are needed, and she’s very knowledgeable about what she works on.

Karen  
One of the best things about working with Martha and the team is that I feel comfortable contacting them if I need to. In the event Paul is not here, and I am concerned about anything, I could call them at any time. They respond in a very polite and family-orientated way. We will discuss their families and ours, and there’s a very nice, unified feeling about them.

In the time that we’ve worked with Martha and the team, the best piece of advice we’ve had is, “The markets can go up and down, etc. Don’t panic. This is a plan for the long term, for the future, and everything looks like it’s going to be okay.” 

I would definitely recommend Martha and Plan First Wealth. The support they’ve given us is fantastic. The advice they’ve given us is fantastic. If you’re from the UK, like I am, and have UK and US pensions, it’s really important that you have somebody like Plan First Wealth having your back.
